Owner, grower and herbalist Constance Ferry offers handson learning experience at Hobbit Gardens, an organic garden on 27 1/2 acres of woods, ravines, pastures and gardens.
Constance has been growing and harvesting from the organic herb and perennial
gardens for 30 years. She is a master gardener, master naturalist, an herbalist, a member and speaker for the Master Gardener’s Program, Indiana Organic Gardner’s Association, The Herb Society of Central Indiana, and the American Herbalist Guild. Constance shares her love and passion with other groups, schools and associations.
These organic herb and perennial gardens offer the experience to learn about plants and their relationship with the earth, about our relationship with them and about herbs as food and medicine. They provide an opportunity to learn how to garden and live ecologically, create healthy foods for ourselves and our families, make our own medicines, skin care products, create beauty in our homes and to sustain ourselves within the world where we live. Workshops at Hobbit Gardens are available, along with an herbal studies apprentice program and a garden work exchange program throughout the year.
Constance invites you to come wander, journey and connect in the gardens, through workshops, during celebrations and events that combine experiences with sky, woods, plants, sun and rain, and where you will learn how to “walk gently upon Grandmother Earth”.
